Untitled Mural

The Sundance Inn commissioned this large mural to give guests facing the cinderblock wall rooms with a view.
The mural centers around Crystal Butte and part of Snow King – a view that would be visible if not for the wall. Homer Richards, the original owner of the motel (then called The Flame) sits on a fence, wearing chaps (on display at the Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum). Beside Homer stands his horse, as well as the Sundance family of Sally, Cooper and Hailey Morton. Homer is giving Hailey one of his trademark tootsie rolls.
On the far right, Greta Gretzinger added the Matterhorn and Wind River Mountains the following year. A mermaid accompanies the hot tub/spa, combing her long locks. The third section, on the left, includes a celestial scene: Twinkle-Twinkle Little Star as well as the Tetons at night. Amy and Casey Morton also appear with their dogs.
