Press Release: MoonShot 5x5 Call for Visionaries is Live!

Jackson, Wyoming – Jackson Hole Public Art announces a call for MoonShot 5x5 presenters and visionaries. 2022 is JH Public Art’s 10-year anniversary and it will be celebrated with a special MoonShot 5x5 event, sponsored by First Republic Bank and co-presented with JH Climate Action Collective, on March 2, 2022 with a juried Buzz Aldrin Award for the top presenter and a $3,000 prize.

MoonShot concepts are catalysts to change the way people see the world and how we interact with one another. JH Public Art is seeking ideas that spark inclusive community interaction, reimagine how we connect to each other in public spaces, and should capture the relationship between creativity and play

Anyone with a bright idea (not necessarily a shovel ready project but a visionary possibility) is invited to submit. MoonShot ideas must be submitted by January 31st, 2022; submission details in both English and Spanish can be found online here. Finalists will be selected to present in a quick-paced format - using 5 slides and 5 minutes - at the Center for the Arts on March 2nd and will be candidates for the 2022 MoonShot juried award.

The 2022 MoonShot 5x5 event will also feature keynote speaker and moonshot thinker, Jason McLennan. Co-presented with JH Climate Action Collective, Jason McClennen will join us live, at the Center with a presentation on his groundbreaking work on creating living buildings. Jason is a winner of the Buckminster Fuller Prize, the planet’s top prize for socially responsible design, and he is considered one of the world’s most influential individuals in the fields of architecture and green building today.

The MoonShot 5x5 is a core JH Public Art program now in its 5th year; sponsored by First Republic Bank, Friends of JH Public Art, and Wyoming Arts Council. The community event - always free and open to the public - serves as a launchpad to rocket ideas out into the universe, where we hope they will land in reality.
