Teton County Fairgrounds to Host Old West Days Chamber Mixer

JACKSON, WYOMING, May 14, 2024 / On Thursday May 23rd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., all community members are invited to attend the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce’s Old West Days Chamber Mixer at the Teton County Fairgrounds in the refurbished Community Building, which is north of the Fair Office and accessible from Karns Ave. Don’t miss the live music, finger foods, libations and raffle prizes!

The event will include the official grand opening & ribbon cutting ceremony for the new community space and the unveiling of the Western Heritage Mural – a partnership between JH Public Art & Teton County Fairgrounds – supported by the JH Travel & Tourism Board and the Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund.

The Western Heritage Mural, titled Out West, was painted by Laramie-based artist Dan Toro. Toro used a warm color palette to create a dramatic depiction of the western landscape that will serve as an appealing backdrop for the wide-variety of events that will be hosted in the Community Building.

The Fair Office is now accepting reservations for public and private events in the building. Interested community members may inquire at the Fair Office located at 305 W. Snow King Ave in Jackson or visit the Fair and Fairgrounds website. Rental applications are available in English and Spanish and can be submitted online or in-person at the Fair Office.

“This public art project has been over a year in the making and I am thrilled to see it come to fruition. We are really excited to officially share it with the community on May 23rd. I am grateful for JH Public Art’s partnership, funding support from JH Travel & Tourism Board and the WY Cultural Trust Fund, our volunteer selection panel members, Teton Rental Center & the 49’er Inn for their in-kind donations, and of course the artist, Dan Toro,” said Rachel Grimes, Teton County Fairgrounds Manager.
