Press Release: Glowing Sculptures Light Up Winter Nights at Teton Village and Center for the Arts

JACKSON, WYOMING, December 7, 2023 / Jackson Hole Public Art, in partnership with Teton Village Association, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Center for the Arts brings a month plus of glowing sculptures to Teton Village Commons and the Center for the Arts Lawn. GlowNights, in its sixth year, has become an anticipated part of Teton County winter art and events.

Two large-scale lighted sculptures will be featured. Cloud Lights, landing in the Teton Village Commons at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, will showcase illuminated cloud shapes that pull the sky closer to the earth. Created by designers and fabricators Pneuhaus, these artful inflatables cast warm colors that glow and reflect in snow. At the Center for the Arts Lawn, 5 Electric Dandelions will rise 25 feet above the landscape. Created by Liquid PXL, a Los Angeles art collective, the sculpture uses LED lights to cascade twinkling colors high above the ground.

Each GlowNights sculpture will open with a free event. Join us in welcoming the Cloud Lights in Teton Village with a pop-up Cloud Factory roaming the base-area from noon – 5pm dispensing Cloud Ski Tickets featuring art by well-known, local artists.Enjoy a Free-skate from 3:30-5:00, and cocoa and cookies under the clouds from 4:30-5:30 PM on December 22. For Electric Dandelions at The Center Park, there will be a Sparkler Party on January 12 from 5 to 7 pm, with music, sparkling art, and beverages.

“We are delighted to bring lighted sculptures to the darkest winter months. It’s exciting to install fabricated sculptures created by art collectives that work specifically with art and light in the environment. We owe thanks to lodging tax funding from Jackson Hole Travel and Tourism for making this scale of installation possible.” says Carrie Geraci, Executive Director of Jackson Hole Public Art.

Jackson Hole Public Art brings art to public spaces with the support of partners. For GlowNights, partners include Teton Village Association, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Center for the Arts, Wyoming Arts Council and Jackson Hole Travel and Tourism.
