Ten Local Artists Selected for New Utility Box Wraps

JACKSON, WYOMING, August 13, 2024 / The Town of Jackson, in partnership with JH Public Art, announces that new artwork will be popping up around town on utility boxes soon. Ten local artists were selected from a pool of thirty-nine artists to have their images printed on vinyl wraps for traffic boxes throughout downtown.

The ten artists who will be featured are: Taryn Boals, Sue Cedarholm, Wendell Field, Mae Orm, Miga Rossetti, Shannon Schacht, Kay Stratman, Kathryn Turner, Boughton Walden, and Travis Walker.

Artists were asked to submit images that represent the theme of “home,” considering the theme as it relates to Jackson Hole through images of people, places, and regional flora and fauna.

Stratman, one of the selected artists, commented, “I am quite excited to have my painting grace a utility box in Jackson. Seriously,  it has actually been a goal of mine. I am joining a select pool of great artists. Art should be enjoyed by everyone.”

Utility box artworks enliven the streetscape and contribute to wayfinding with images that highlight community character.

“We are very excited to showcase the talented local artists in our community through this Town of Jackson funded program and we thank WYDOT for their participation. This project was suggested by a community member and is a favorite of locals and visitors,” says Carrie Geraci, Executive Director of Jackson Hole Public Art.
