Press Release: New Mural Opportunity at The HUB Bicycles

Jackson Hole, WY: The Hub Bicycles seeks an artist to LIVE PAINT a mural for the shop’s new location on Pearl Street in downtown Jackson. JH Public Art is facilitating a regional call-for-artists with a full RFP available online here. Submission deadline is July 19. 

The ideal applicant will have mural painting experience and express enthusiasm for painting live at an opening event at a date (to-be-determined) in September, 2021. The mural should respond to the positive benefit of bicycles in improving individual and community wellbeing and depict how cycling builds strong communities.

Artists located in the Jackson Hole region and beyond (including Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, Utah, and Colorado) are invited to apply and the muralist’s commission will total $3,000. A selection panel of stakeholders will review all submissions and identify one to three finalists, and from the pool of finalists, the selection panel will review site-specific concepts and identify one artist to receive the commission. The anticipated timeline is: 

RFQ released July 1, 2021 // Qualifications due July 19, 2021 // Finalists announced by August 1, 2021 // Final Concepts Due August 15, 2021 // Finalist announced on September 1, 2021 // Live painting and celebration TBD in September
