Artist Bart Walter designed this 4000-pound sculpture to welcome visitors to the Cowboy State at the entrance to the Jackson Hole Airport. Made of cast bronze and stainless steel the sculpture stands 15.5 feet tall and captures the dynamic moment as horse touches earth again, and the contest between man and beast hangs in the balance. Through his research on this project, Bart went to rodeos in Wyoming to understand the essence of bronc riders and their horses and observed wild horses on the open range.
